Life affirmation/let the sun shine
Introduction:
Connections of content with perception contribute to a significant extent to leaving a trace of memory. The stories that we create are based on these memorized content, but along with the time and new information stored become transformed into forms deviating from real situations occurring in a specific place and time, there is only an afterimage of what we experienced and we remembered. Forgetting is a natural process, controlled by our brain, to protect this organ from disorganizing information overload, it facilitates their selection, from the plurality of impulses we are bombarded with. It is believed that the storage process itself is progressive. There is information that is remembered forever. Memory is the basis of our social relations, it is absolutely impossible for us to have basic contact, we also lose our identity, sense of meaning and meaning without it. The theory of the passage of time tries to explain the loss of information in some human memory systems, proving that the passage of time causes the information to be lost. Some content is stored in memory, but there is a difficulty related to their extraction, but when asking the right questions or when the situational context is beneficial we are able to access them. According to Freud's theory, very often some unpleasant memories can be forced out of consciousness an thus become impossible to remember. Although they are still in the memory, they are actively suppressed all the time, which seems to be forgotten, we have the impression that they do not exist. The build-up of memories is extremely interesting, each subsequent information is overwritten and consolidated in our consciousness. Memories connect the two worlds, the imaginary, created by our perception and the real ones. The data we collect over the course of our lifetime, build up. Something in the style of palimpsest arises, the content of which is not always well-legible, built of memories, dreams, traumas, curvatures, untruths, absurdities and supposedly real.
About:
The installation is made of video materials recorded in Poland and Tunisia, here the phenomenon of fission of the light wave to different lengths, wave dispersion is used, its visible effect is the rainbow. The picture was recorded as the first nice impression of the places physically existing, it becomes only an afterimage of what I could really feel being there is a small visualization of memories, an attempt to register these emotions. Although the rainbow is a phenomenon very rich in meaning, for me personally is the closest related to childhood, when after difficult times, not only she appears, but also the effects of the turmoil. Not for everyone the same story ends in a similar way. Video image split in rainbows trying to become a visualization of the process of remembering, the same source of light, image it's deformed and multiplied, just like our memories that go with time distortion
